This is something for you who are looking for a genuine and ‘genuine’ Algarve stay. Olhão, which houses the largest fishing port of the Algarve, is a nice town perfectly situated between Tavira to the east, and Faro and Vilamoura to the west. The town offers a rich and varied range of fish restaurants, cafes and bars and not least a very nice and appreciated fish market with all types of seafood directly from the sea.

Olhao Marina is just a 20-minute drive from Faro Airport on an easy drive and good road.

Olhao stands out as a very interesting place with a rich selection of marine activities and fish restaurants. The islands of Armona & Culatra – Farol and Desert Island are located in the nature reserve Ria Formosa where boats leave several times daily from the marina in Olhao.
